Shilpa came to Bombay on an impulse this weekend and ended up being the photographer at our gig at NMIMS. This is her photograph which I edited. She absolutely loves the D300 I can guarantee you!

Siva always gets a raw deal WRT photographs during the show. Most photographers tend to focus heavily on the guys in front and neglect the drummer ;) . However, he always has the best shots during sound check!

Its quite wierd for me to be part of the band doing a soundcheck and my camera always next to me so I can click some shots for the blog! and then there is this moment when the guy on the lights decides to run through his setup and tweak it and the stage is magically lit and perfect for such nice photos and I am caught between photography and music!!

Luckily for me, this time round, it was Siva’s drum check that was happening when the lights behind the drummer were being tested and I just had to click!

The Raghu Dixit Project in the Jeonju Sori festival in Korea. We have been playing with this line up for a while now and this was the last show of the South East Asia tour. The band was fully enjoying itself on stage and this was a perfect capture.

Raghu, Vijay and me are airborne in a synchronized jump on stage!! Photo credit goes to our Manager-Sound Engineer-Photographer, Vijay Nair who seems to have gotten very good at digital photography!

We played at ‘Someplace Else’ at the Park Hotel in Kolkotta. This is one of the most fun pubs I’ve been to in a long time, it is always packed with people and the ambience is brilliant!

We played at RVCE, Bangalore and it was a really good fun show! It was after a long time that we played in Bangalore and it felt good. The band was felicitated after the show and we got bouquets :)

The band launched its album and the press went crazy and everything was moving in fast forward motion like there was no tomorrow .. Things have settled down a bit but not for long .. the album hits music stores across the country this weekend and from then on .. all hell breaks loose! A few people who did go online and order the album have been raving about it and have only good things to say so we are quite expectant for the mass verdict!

But this is about a little group of friends who traveled from far and wide and came to witness the launch of the album. At the very last minute, I called a bunch of close friends and invited them for the launch and quite a few of them turned up and the rest of them were present in spirit which made the launch one of the most memorable days in my life!

Its not everyday that one gets to launch a music album worldwide and be featured on national TV etc .. and when that day and that moment comes, you want everyone you love to be there … well as many as can possibly make it atleast …

A bunch of my friends could and did! and after the brilliant launch, we went to this wonderful place in Bandra called ‘The Hawaiian Shack’ and partied till they allowed us to! It was the most fun I have had in a long time and is something which won’t go out of my mind any time soon ..

Thanks all you guys!! you made it special for me!

An exclusive ‘MTV Alert’ was shot for the Raghu Dixit Project in Mumbai and this was the location for the first shot of the day! the lighting was brilliant and the colours were so vibrant that all I had to do was step in there and press the button!

The Raghu Dixit Project is an experience like no other. We are an Indo World Folk Rock band that does bits of each of these genres and is still a whole fused eccelectic mix of them all!

This photo was taken at one of my best shows ever! we played at the India Social Forum in Delhi to a crowd of social activists and villagers and tribals from all parts of India and they took to our music like Asterix to a roasted boar!

The band has taught me so much about music and life and everything in between … we are on the verge of releasing our album and hopefully to rock stardom! wish us luck!
